Third Division, Game 6: Rot-Weiß Erfurt - SV Babelsberg 03 4:2 (2:1)
Babelsberg were unable to pick-up a point on Saturday in Erfurt despite a decent performance. The home team won 4-2 in front of 3500 fans, including 350 from Babelsberg.
Both teams had plenty of chances in an eventful game, with former Nulldrei player Denis Danso Weidlich putting Erfurt ahead after 30 minutes. Babelsberg hit back quickly with Anton Müller scoring from the spot after Tom Schütz was fouled in the box. Erfurt took the lead again through Semmer just before half-time.
Babelsberg pushed for a equaliser and a good move involving Guido Kocer and Hendrik Hahne saw Hahne scoring with a well placed shot from 12 metres. Unfortunately Erfurt replied immediately with Weidlich again scoring against his former club. Nulldrei threw everything forward but were unable to grab a third goal. Erfurt sealed their victory with a goal on the break in injury time.
The league has a break next weekend and Babelsberg will take on Union Berlin in a test game on Friday afternoon. Kick-off on 3.9.2010 is at 2 pm in Karl-Liebknecht-Stadion. The next league game is on 11.9.2010 against FC Hansa Rostock.
